Message from the editor

Dear Colleague:

 

Membranes (ISSN 2077-0375) is proud to present our "Women' s Special Issue Series: Membrane Materials and Applications" aimed at celebrating the achievements of women in membrane science and technology. As the editor, I hereby would like to invite you to publish a paper (research article, review, communication, etc.) in this special issue in 2023.

 

The submission deadline is end of October 2023 (can be extended). You may send your manuscript now or at any point until deadline as papers will be individually published following acceptance. The article processing charge (APC) is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs) per accepted paper. You could publish the paper with 50% discount in this special issue. Along with this special issue, Membranes also launched “2023 Membranes Early-Career Women Award” which is open for nomination now. You are welcome to apply or forward this information to your early-career colleagues in this field.

Membranes is an open-access journal published monthly by MDPI, covers the broad aspects of the science and technology of both biological and non-biological membranes. Membranes 2024 Best Paper

We are pleased to announce the “Membranes 2024 Best Paper Award” for research and review articles published in Membranes from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022. One review and one research article will receive an award each. The papers will be selected after a thorough evaluation by the Journal Award Committee led by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Spas D. Kolev.

The Prize:

  • One review award: CHF 500 and a chance to publish a paper free of charge in Membranes in 2024 after peer review;

  • One research article award: CHF 500 and a chance to publish a paper free of charge in Membranes in 2024 after peer review;

  • Each winner will also receive a certificate.

The winners will be announced on the journal website in March 2024.

Membranes 2024 Travel Award

We are pleased to announce that Membranes will be granting a Travel Award to two junior scientists. The applications will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee consisting of senior scholars from the Membranes Editorial Board.

 

This award provides financial support for the winners to attend an international conference in the field of membranes to be held in 2024, in order to hold a presentation, present a poster, or both.

 

Candidate Requirements:

– Postdoctoral fellows or PhD students;

– Plans to attend an international conference in 2024 (oral presentation or poster).

 

Please submit your applications for the Membranes 2024 Travel Award online by 31 October 2023. Prizes will be awarded at the end of March 2024 and announced on the Membranes website.

Membranes 2023 Early Career-Women Award

We are pleased to announce that we are now welcoming nominations for the 2023 Membranes Early-Career Women Award. The prize will be awarded to one female investigator in recognition of her excellence in the field of membranes. All nominations will be assessed by the Journal Award Committee, which will be led by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Spas D. Kolev, and the winner will be announced on 20 December 2023.

 

Prizes:

– CHF 1000;

– A chance to publish a paper free of charge in Membranes in 2024 after peer review.

– An electronic certificate.

Membranes 2023 Young Investigator Award Nomination

We are pleased to announce that "Membranes" journal is now inviting nominations for the "Membranes" 2023 Young Investigator Award. This prize will be given to one young investigator in recognition of their excellence in the field of membrane technology and its applications. All nominations will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee led by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Spas D. Kolev.

The Prize:
− 2000 CHF (Swiss Francs);
− Option to publish one paper free of charge in Membranes after peer review before the end of 2024
− An engraved plaque.
